So it might not quite be December yet, but i'm definitely starting to feel extra Christmassy now that my birthday is officially over. Getting party ready definitely takes a lot of planning, a few strops and numerous 'i'm not even coming' texts to your friends - so it's safe to say i'm planning that process early ahead of work's Christmas do next week! Aaaaand that's where YSL Beauty comes in. If there was a more Instagrammed packaging than theirs, i'd love to see it - YSL's has premium written allover it, perfect for a treat this festive season. I mean, you know it's good when it's golden.
With so many items to choose from, there's definitely way more than enough essentials for the party season - particularly the Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick alone. If there's one item you could possibly need to get your through December, it's always a bold lipstick to brighten up your style - although I may be slightly biased being a total lip product addict.
With that being said, i've been absolutely obsessing over skincare products this past year and by using them and experimenting, i've come to notice those little benefits that you usually wouldn't should you dismiss them in the early stages. My skincare range has expanded from the vital moisturisers and serums, to the right concealers, primers and balms for my skin. It's funny how differently make up applies to un-attended to skin before you add a primer to your regime and the Touche Eclat Blur Primer from Debenhams is an absolute saviour for keeping it in line (which paired with the Touche Eclat Concealer is a force to be reckoned with). The transparent gel allows light to diffuse through and creates an illuminated, smooth canvas for applying make up to (buh-bye pores). It's safe to say i've not been applying without it since getting my paws on this product and it's a habit i'll be taking with me way past the party season. If you suffer from hit-and-miss pores like I do, it's super important to make sure you're using the correct products and not to ignore them - it'll only be a nightmare for you if they sneak through on that all important evening.
It wouldn't be Christmas without a fragrance now, would it? I'm a huge fan of the YSL fragrances with Mon Paris ranking number one on my list, closely followed by the extremely popular Black Opium - and with bottles so cute, how could they not rank highly? Having a signature fragrance is quite a known thing, but for me I like to switch them up dependant on look and occasion and these two are perfect to switch between for the season with Mon Paris hinting fruity and floral tones, and Black Opium featuring florals and vanillas.
Contouring has become one of the biggest parts of applying my make up, especially on a night out. I've been desperate to try the YSL Couture Contouring Sculpting Palette forever, particularly since it's powder form. I've always used creme palettes, however with my skin being fairly oily - a powdered version works wonders for combatting that unwanted shine.
