The season of layering

It's that time again. Gone are the days of only a light jacket *just in case*, and present are those where at least 3 layers is essential. I recently had the pleasure of hearing about this seasons Eileen Fisher collection with her team and had the best time learning about the concept, the history, and the styling ideas behind A/W15 - which has definitely creeped it's way into my own wardrobe now the season is in.
So, what is Eileen Fisher inspired by you may ask? Well, Eileen Fisher of course. Her style is the simple, throw-on, minimalistic look with a tailored, chic element to it - probably one of the most accessible and desirable styles of the A/W season, and every season is modernised with a new styling twist. This season, it's all about long layers over longer layers in cashmeres, merinos and silks (for a less lazy feel, of course), knits on knits and knits layered with silks, as well as long culottes grazing ankle boots. It's a big, big yes for me - so go ahead, throw on your cosiest knits over those longline camis and basque in the wonderfulness that is warmth!

  1. I really need to get into the habit of layering pieces, I just tend to chuck on a sweater, leather jacket and my massive blanket scarf and go. Love how the delicate silky material is kind of 'toughened up' by the sweater and boots!
